PROGRAM :
8:30 A.M :Our tour guide will pick you up at your hotel in Hoi an and take you to the local market with a shopping list.She will escort you to meet local market traders and teach you how to select the freshest local ingredients. Then You walk from the market to get on the boat to go on Thu Bon River. It is about 5 km away from Ocean and cooking school. During the boat ride you can enjoy stunning river views and watch local people catching fishes or working on the river.
Next, We change you from wooden boat to small Bamboo Basket Boat to visit water coconut jungle where Viet Cong Hiding during Viet Nam – America war. Along the way the crew will teach you how to make hats, necklaces, rings and other items from the water coconut trees that keep an important role of the local economy and ecosystem.
Upon arrival to cooking school you can catch fish and crab in the river and our pond. We will then grind rice in a stone wheel to make rice flour in the old way. With handmade rice flour and the fresh ingredients you purchased in the markets, we are ready to Cook! we follow the menu : Banh Xeo ( Rice Pancake prepared in Hoi An style), Fried Noodles with seafood, Vermicelli with grilled pork. And also, Goi Cuon Tom, or prawn spring rolls.Each dish is demonstrated by master chef first, then it’s your turn to replicate at your individual cooking station and make your own delicious Vietnamese appetizer. Then on to the next appetizer or main.
Finally, you have a lunch with what you have cooked and taste amazing Vietnamese food, Finish the tour and we send you back to your hotel about 1:30 p.
